"The best staff. So professional and helpful!!"- T.D. / Facebook / May 26, 2021
"After more than 6 months, Aspen Dental could not make my dentures fit. I fired them and chose the closest dentist to my home. It was Bass River.... after going toothless for so long and making so many trips to Aspen for adjustments that did nothing, I had lost hope. Dr Pete and crew not only managed to make my dentures wearable but they laugh at my jokes too! Thanks"- M.S. / Google / May 01, 2021
"As a new patient I found It was a wonderful, homey, friendly, down to earth office. Felt very comfortable and well cared for. The office staff, Dr. Russo and my hygienist Kelly Holland were terrific. She was thorough, professional, knowledgeable and kind. It was a very positive experience all around. Would recommend this dental office with no reservations."- J.C. / Google / Apr 30, 2021
"The best experience I’ve had with a dental clinic in a very long time. From reception to the hygienist- which she did the most comprehensive and deep cleaning of my teeth EVER. The dentist is easy going and skilled. Very pleasant experience even through extractions. The dental assistant is so efficient that the doctor rarely has to ask for something. She has it in hand before he has to. Unlike my last dentist who had to ask (seemingly unassured) what he needed next. Sometimes leaving me alone to search for what was needed from another room. I’m very happy I have found #bassriverdental @bassriverdental to restore the multiple problems my last dentist left me with. They also take dental insurance !!! Great experience all around. Best Candidates for Dental Implants
Dental implants can replace a missing tooth or teeth with an implant-support crown, bridge, or denture. You may want to consider a dental implant if you currently have a regular dental restoration, but are unhappy with the look, feel, or if there is extra care needed. Implants can be cleaned like your natural teeth with regular brushing and flossing. During your dental implant consultation, we will assess the health of your gums and jawbone in order to determine if a dental implant is a right option. If needed, a gum or bone graft may be completed before the implant is placed to ensure you have a strong enough foundation to support the post. You may not be a candidate for dental implants if you are pregnant, use tobacco products, or are currently being treated for an oral condition like gum disease.
What To Expect
Before the dental implant is placed, you may need to have damaged teeth extracted, gum grafts, or bone grafts. Once your mouth is ready for the dental implant, the treatment area will be numbed with a local anesthesia. Sedation can be added to help you feel more comfortable during the procedure. An incision will be made in your gum and put the titanium post in the jawbone. The incision will be closed with part of the post visible above the gumline. This process will continue if multiple posts are needed. As the implant integrates with the bone and gum over the next few months, a temporary crown or cover will be used to protect the post. Once the dental implant is strong enough, the restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) will be attached to the post and adjusted for a good fit.
You may have some temporary swelling in your gums and face, as well as bruising, discomfort, and some minor bleeding following your dental implant surgery. A member of our team will let you know what is to be expected and when to contact our office. We may also prescribe pain medication and antibiotics. Once your implants have healed and your custom restoration has been attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine like brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. You should continue to schedule an annual exam and bi-annual cleanings at Bass River Dental so we can assess your oral health. We will let you know if your implants or restorations need to be adjusted or replaced.
Depending on your dental insurance and specific coverage, some of the cost of your dental implant and restoration may be covered. Our office will contact your insurance to determine your benefits and calculate your costs. During your consultation, our financial team can help estimate your costs and tell you about payment methods accepted by our office, including medical financing.
Plan Your Procedure
Dental implants can be a great choice if you want a natural-looking replacement for a missing tooth that is easy to maintain and lasts for a long time. We can walk you through the process, including surgery, to place the implants and your options on the final restorations.
